Detroit Samples began producing and writing music for D. M. Adkins and the D. M. Chorale.  He had to come up with a name for his production company. Often times, people would ask others when they heard Detroit play, "Ain't that Samples, from D. M. Adkins?".  That stuck with Detroit.  Detroit decided to name his production company, Ain't that Samples.  Everytime someone hears some of Detroit works, they often say, "Ain't that Samples?"

The first artist to be produced by Detroit for Ain't That Samples Production was D. M. Adkins and the D. M. Chorale.  Detroit's fames began to grow after that.
